Concept, art direction and a visual language of your own — drawn in code, from 360px to wide screens, with a dark theme and every state.

01 04 service 1 of 4 in Web Design

What’s included

  • Site concept, art direction and visual language — not a template with your logo dropped in
  • Layouts designed as they will actually be coded, so nothing dies in handoff
  • Responsive from 360px to ultrawide, dark mode included
  • Typography chosen for reading, not for screenshots
  • Every state drawn — empty, loading, error, success
  • Accessibility built in: contrast, focus, keyboard, motion preferences

Who it’s for

  • Companies whose site looks like their competitors' because it came from the same template
  • Businesses whose product is better than the impression their site makes
  • Anyone who has been sent a beautiful mockup no developer could build

In short

Website design is the concept, art direction and visual language of your site — not a template with your logo. We derive the style from the audience and the task, set the typography for reading, draw every state and every width from 360px, include a dark theme and accessibility. Because the design is done straight in code, nothing is lost on the way to the browser: what you approve is what visitors see. The price is counted in hours and fixed before the start.

A template, a customised template or your own design

Three ways to get a look for a site — and what each one says about you.

What a site’s visual language is made of

Each element is chosen for the audience — together they form the impression a visitor gets in the first seconds.

  1. Typography

Typefaces chosen for reading, not for screenshots: line length, spacing, a clear hierarchy of headings.

  2. Colour

A neutral base and one accent; contrast checked for reading, in light and dark themes.

  3. Grid and rhythm

Consistent spacing between blocks makes a page calm and expensive-looking; random spacing makes it cheap.

  4. Images

The direction of photography, illustrations or 3D — one style across the whole site.

  5. Icons and details

One set, one line weight, one corner radius — small things that make the whole look solid.

  6. Motion

Transitions and reactions that explain what happened — and a calm version for those who switched motion off.

What we think through that templates skip

The difference between a picture and a working site is in situations nobody shows in a portfolio.

  1. 01

    Every state

Empty, loading, error, success: a person always understands what is happening.

  2. 02

    Every width

From a 360px phone to an ultra-wide monitor — not three fixed sizes.

  3. 03

    Dark theme

Follows the system setting and is designed separately, not inverted.

  4. 04

    Real content

Long names, two-line headings, missing photos — the layout survives them.

  5. 05

    Accessibility

Contrast, visible focus, keyboard navigation and sensitivity to motion.

  6. 06

    Speed

Fonts, images and effects fit into the loading budget agreed before design.

Common website design mistakes

  1. Copying competitors

A site like everyone else’s is forgotten together with everyone else’s.

  2. A hero banner that says nothing

A big photo and a slogan instead of what you do and for whom.

  3. A slider on the first screen

People rarely look past the first slide — the main message should not be hidden in the second.

  4. Five fonts and ten colours

Variety reads as chaos. One or two typefaces and one accent are enough.

  5. Forgetting the phone

Most visitors come from a phone, and it gets the leftovers of the desktop design.

Questions about website design

How much does website design cost?

The price is counted in hours and depends on the number of unique pages and states. The sum is fixed before the start; the estimate is free.

What do you need from us to start?

A brief, examples of sites you like and dislike, the logo and brand materials if there are any, and at least draft texts.

Do you design sites for other developers?

Yes, we hand over components, tokens and rules in code. But design and development in one pair of hands give the most precise result.

We have no brand identity. Is that a problem?

No: a basic visual language can be derived for the site. If you need a full identity for other carriers, it is a separate service.

Who owns the design?

You. Source files and rights are handed over when the work is accepted.
